Major ethics reforms needed to end cronyism

Before we can truly reform health care, lower prescription drug costs, restore fiscal responsibility and provide real economic opportunities for Montana's families, we must end the culture of cronyism and corruption that currently rules our nation's capital.

The lobbying scandal that Senator Conrad Burns and indicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff may be a part of the most corrupt relationship between members of Congress and a high-paid lobbyist that Washington has seen in a generation. There are currently 40 prosecutors investigating whether Abramoff and his cronies made illegal contributions and gifts in exchange for Congressional help for their clients.
