Jon Hansen on Budget & Economy

End executive branch "slush fund" for business loans

Hansen was critical of what he termed "crony capitalism" and a "massive slush fund" within the executive branch, asserting that it lacks sufficient legislative oversight. He cited examples such as a failed "True Shrimp" project in Madison, which received millions in state funds but never materialized. Hansen pledged to end such practices, arguing they contradict free-market principles and benefit "political contributors" rather than the broader economy.
