Housing Acceleration Fund to build more affordable housing

That's why, today, I am announcing a new Housing Acceleration Fund to build more affordable housing, faster. The fund leverages public and private dollars to unlock lower cost financing and multiply the affordable homes we build. For every dollar we invest, we'll generate up to ten dollars to finance projects that house Arizonans. I'm proud to also announce we will kickstart this initiative with a two-and-a-half million dollar investment.

We must do more to address the crisis in housing

We have lowered costs by cutting government red tape and making historic investments in affordable housing programs. But, make no mistake, we must do more. First, we must extend the State Low-Income Housing Tax Credit. Second, let's address the proliferation of vacation rentals owned by out of state corporations looking for a quick buck. Third, let's continue to foster generational wealth. Finally, we must further cut the red tape that's driving up the cost of housing.

Rein in wasteful spending without sacrificing public safety

We will rein in wasteful spending without sacrificing public safety and public education. We will establish guardrails on unaccountable programs without hurting hard-working families. And we will tighten our collective belts through increased efficiencies and innovation without gutting programs that support small businesses, seniors, and those in need.

Inflation in Arizona driven by skyrocketing housing costs

Inflation in Arizona is being largely driven by skyrocketing housing costs. And we have to do more about housing. We need to build more, bottom line. Supply is not keeping up with demand. Prices are through the roof. And people are being priced out of their homes. And we're seeing a huge increase in people who are experiencing homelessness right now because of that.
