$10 million for electronic firefighter equipment
“The tragic Worcester fire reminded all of us about the dangers and realities of firefighting, and we appropriated $10 million to better equip those who protect the rest of us from the smoke and flames,” said Birmingham. The $10 million allocation can
be used by fire departments to buy the newest in equipment, including thermal imaging cameras which can distinguish temperatures and Personal Alert Safety Systems which are worn by firefighters and sound alarms if they stop moving or are activated.
