Make terrorist threats a felony, whether or not carried out
Since the terrorist attack of September 11th, Tom has been working with the Attorney General to make sure that we provide our public safety officials with the tools they need. The Senate has approved legislation making it a felony to threaten
terrorist action -- regardless of whether the threat is carried out. Such threats can cause psychological terror, serious disruption of our lives, and enormous attention from public safety officials. They need to be treated as serious crimes.

Allow state inspection of e-mail, to fight terrorism
Tom has been [seeking] legislation to allow state-wide grand juries to address crimes that are not contained within a specific county and to pass legislation allowing for administrative subpoenas of email and internet records of suspected criminals,
including terrorists. This legislation will assist in the pursuit of criminals and will protect the privacy of citizens by requiring judicial approval before prosecutors can view the contents of emails.
