Curb demand side via drug treatment

Benjamin called for a nonpartisan commission to re-evaluate all aspects of American drug policy. "Drugs enter our country by invitation, not by invasion," he said. He added, "Drug treatment is the most compassionate and cost-effective way to reduce drug use. Drug use should remain illegal, but reduction efforts should focus on individuals who engage in violence and major drug trafficking."
