Tort reform to limit frivolous healthcare lawsuits

There are many reasons for rising health care costs. The constant threat of costly litigation over real or imagined medical errors needs to be addressed through tort reform to place reasonable caps on non-monetary damages. My father was a physician, my wife is a physician, and our daughter is a physician. I know the enormous and needless costs that the threat of lawsuits impose on our health care system. Study MA experiment in universal health insurance

Q: What steps should the federal government take to make health-care more affordable?

A: There are many reasons for rising health care costs. Not all can or should be opposed by the federal government, but some can and should be. Experiments to provide universal health insurance like that underway in Massachusetts need to be studied for both positive and negative implications for broader national coverage.
