Strengthen our alliances with other free nations
We must ensure that America continues to be safe for all who call it home. As a former intelligence officer and national security advisor in Congress, - I know we can achieve this by:
- Modernizing and reforming our military
- Strengthening our
alliances with other free nations
- Protecting funding for police training, accountability and safety
- Countering violent extremism
- Securing our borders and treating immigrants humanely
- Improving digital safety for our children

Be strong with the Russians and Putin
Q: What about dealing with Putin?McMullin: How have we gotten to the point where we're considering electing a President who is being played and manipulated by a former KGB officer?
Q: Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is a former KGB officer;
haven't we had enough of that with Barack Obama?
McMullin: Absolutely. Not being strong enough with the Russians and Putin. This is the thing: Donald Trump, he fancies himself one of the world's best negotiators and that might allow him to do some
branding deals. But that does not mean that he is sophisticated enough to go head to head with a former KGB officer. Putin, as the leader of Russia, presents a challenge to democracy and liberty across the country, across the world. Instability, even.
His goal is to destabilize Europe and he's had some successes there. Obviously, in Ukraine, he's used force even to do it and his goal is to do the same thing in the United States, and Donald Trump is helping him do that.

American leadership instead of withdrawing from the world
Withdrawing from the world makes us less safe, not more. Without American leadership, the cause of liberty at home and abroad suffers, global instability increases and threats to the homeland multiply.
America should foster the values of respect for human rights, national sovereignty and strong alliances that make the world more prosperous and stable.

Democracies don't just happen on their own; US is the driver
McMullin claims the Obama administration's weakness in foreign policy has been a primary factor in the destabilization of the Middle East. McMullin blamed the Obama administration's withdrawn foreign policy for creating a power vacuum into
which "destructive forces" have "surged." McMullin claimed that the U.S. has been "the primary driver of the world's security and economic order since World War II," and that the results have been mostly quite positive, including significant spread of
democracy, "unparalleled prosperity," and "the absence of world wars.""Free markets and liberal democracies don't just happen on their own;
they require the support and leadership of powerful nations. It is our responsibility to be a force for good in the world," he asserted.
