No funding of churches--but church non-profit services ok

A: Of course churches should be allowed to provide welfare services but the government should not be funding churches. The confusion between church and state will undermine the independence of churches. For example, if the government gives a grant to a church the government needs to audit that grant. This gets the government into church funding--where the government should not be. Churches should set up a separate corporation, non-profit or profit (that is up to them) that should compete for grants from the government like any other corporation. In that way the funding is kept separate from the church, but the church, through an independent corporation, is able to provide the services.
