Kevin Zeese on Tax Reform

No tax on the first $100,000 of income

Under my tax plan the first $100,000 of income would be federal income tax free, thereby giving every American a 22% increase in income. That would be made up by a micro tax on wealth instruments of 0.1% (the purchase of stocks, bonds, derivatives and currency) which would raise three times as much as taxing the income of working Americans. Our current tax and economic system is rigged in favor of the wealthiest and results in working families paying more then their fair share.

Tax income from wealth as heavily as income from labor

[The Social Security income cap of $90,000] is a flat tax that is particularly burdensome on low and middle income workers. By lifting this ceiling and taxing all income, Social Security will be secure and the US will take a small step toward correcting the tax imbalance created over the last two decades where the wealthiest have gotten huge tax breaks while the rest of us have paid more of the cost of government. (Why shouldn't income from wealth be taxed at least as heavily as income from labor?)
