NJ has a net loss of $31B to Washington from federal taxes

NJ gets the worst return on its federal taxes of any state in the country: only 57 cents of every dollar we send to Washington comes back to NJ in federal spending. In 2003 alone, this loss amounted to over $31 billion, enough to pay for the entire state budget. Tom believes that NJ's money should not be exported to other states by the federal government. Lower federal taxes & spending benefit NJ more than any other state--because the less we send to Washington, the less we lose to other states. Source: New York Times Election Profiles Oct 8, 2006
