Troy Jackson on Civil Rights

2012: changed his mind and now supports gay marriage

He said he supported same-sex marriage when it won statewide at the ballot box in 2012. He said he changed his tune after a meeting with a group of gay Aroostook County residents. "Here are these people that had fought to get marriage equality and I was the only one to vote against it," he said. "I just came to realize, as far as people wanting to get married, I don't care who they are as long as they're not hurting each other and taking care of each other."
