David Pfeffer on Immigration |
A: We are being deluged by self-declared immigrants who are seeking a better life. It is only reasonable to assume that many of these are not here to find a better life. We will never solve the humanitarian or economic issues of illegal immigration until we secure our borders. Amnesty and other proposals only encourage more uninvited immigration and the problems will only get worse.
A: We could take a lesson perhaps from the Minutemen folks as well. With older couples in lounge chairs, equipped only with binoculars and cell phones, illegal crossings have been significantly deterred. This is not a long term solution, but it does demonstrate that the unbridled flow can be stopped. We can secure our borders if we have the political will to do so. We have the resources, and we can find the way. We have to find a way.
