Richard Randall on War & Peace

The War in Iraq is a failure

The War in Iraq is a failure, and the US government should never have waged it. More and more Americans are coming to oppose the war, the war hawks and high government officials are beginning to distance themselves from the president, and the US seems more willing than ever to pull out of Iraq. But this is not enough. We need to learn how this disaster happened, so we can prevent future disasters from happening.

US actions in Iraq have killed over 1.2 million civilians

International law clearly states that one country can attack another one only when it is itself under attack, about to be attacked, or when the UN Security Council grants permission. Congress shirked its responsibilities by supporting the invasion and occupation of Iraq.
